About Lobi
In 1994, a group of Louisiana Oilmen founded the Louisiana Oilmen's Bass Invitational fishing tournament. It was established with the sincere desire to promote fun and fellowship among the members of our industry, whether active or retired. Their intention was to initiate a Louisiana-based bass tournament in order to financially support business persons in our state.
The first tournament was held at Louisiana Sammy Gill State Park, (currently known as San Miguel), in March 1995 with a total of 300 teams participating. Due to the growing interest of the tournament, 700 qualifying teams are now accepted. The growth of the tournament prompted L.O.B.I. to move the tournament to Cypress Bend State Park to better accommodate all participants.
For the 17th year in a row, Louisiana Oilmen's Bass Invitation has adopted St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as its charitable cause. Over the past sixteen years, this event has brought in over $1,075,00.00 for the Hospital. This money goes a long way to give hope to children all over the world. This year, the goal is to raise over $100,000. Through your generous contributions, you can help us save the lives of children facing catastrophic disease.
We are grateful again for your generosity. On behalf of the many patients and families served by St. Jude, we thank you for helping to keep Danny's dream alive "that no child should die in the dawn of life."
